James Musson of Hose 1827 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me James Musson the elder of Hose in the county of Leicester Grazier
I give to my Beloved Wife Elizabeth Musson for her own use All such plate linen and household furniture as belonged to her previous to our intermarriage
I give to my Son James Musson the Sum of Three hundred pounds of lawful money current in Great Britain to be paid to him within twelve calendar months next after my decease and subject to the payment thereout of my just Debts Funeral and Testamentary Expenses
I give the use but not the property of and in All the rest and residue of my personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever to my said Wife Elizabeth Musson for and during the term of her natural Life And after her decease I give All the said residue of my said personal Estate to my said Son James Musson for his own use
I devise and confirm to my said Wife Elizabeth Musson and her assigns for and during the term of her natural Life All and every my Messuages lands tenements hereditaments and real estate whatsoever And after her decease I devise All and every my said messuages lands tenements hereditaments and real estate (freed and discharged of and from the principal Sum of Five hundred pounds now secured on the same or some part thereof by way of mortgage and of and from all interest due and to grow due for the same Sum and which said mortgage debt it is my Will and mind shall be paid and discharged out of my personal Estate) unto my said Son James Musson his heirs and assigns for ever
And I do nominate constitute and appoint my said Wife Elizabeth Musson sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and other wills by me made
In Witness whereof I the said James Musson have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal the thirty first day of May in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty one

Whereas in & by my above Will I have given to my Son James Musson the Sum of three hundred Pounds to be paid to him within twelve Calendar Months next after my Decease And Whereas since the making of my Will I have given to my said Son a Considerable Sum of Money towards his Advancement in the World Now therefore I do hereby revoke the said Gift of three hundred Pounds so made by me to my said Son & by my said Will and in Lieu thereof I give to him my said Son James Musson the Sum of two hundred Pounds of lawful Money currant in Great Britain to be paid to him within twelve Calendar Months next after my Decease
And I do in all other Respects ratify and confirm my said Will

Let a probat be granted to Elizabeth Musson of Scalford Widow, Sole Executrix named in the Will of James Musson, who died at Hose on the thirtieth day of June 1827
She the said Elizabeth Musson being duly sworn as well to the faithful execution of the Will, as that the Testator’s Goods, Chattels, & Credits as they were at his death, without deducting any Debts owing by him therefrom, did not amount in value to the Sum of one thousand five hundred pounds
