In the Name of God Amen I John Mackley of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Weaver being Well in Body and of perfect Mind and Memory (praised be Almighty God for it) But Considering the uncertainty of life and the certainty of Death do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner following (that is to say)
First I resign my Soule into the Hands of Almighty God who gave it me and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently Buryed at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named And as for my Temporal Estate which it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I give and dispose of the same as followeth
First I give unto William Chester Son of Amos and Ann Chester of Long Clawson the Sum of Ten pound one Half to be paid when the said William Chester is thirteen year of age and the other five pound When the said William Chester is seventeen year of age to be paid by my Executor here after named And If it so happen that the said William Chester be in want before he arise at the said age of thirteen or seventeen years my Will is the said sum of ten pound shall be paid the said William Chester as need requireth
Also I give and Devise unto my Nephew William Mackley son of my Brother Robert Mackley Deceased of Redmell all my part of the West Mill with all my land thereunto Adjoyning unto the said William Mackley and his Heirs and Assignes for ever
Also I give and devise unto my nephew William Mackley of Redmell all my Half oxgang of land with all the Common and pasture thereunto belonging lying and being in the fields of Long Clawson unto my said Nephew William Mackley and his heirs and assignes for ever
All the rest of my goods cattle and Chattles and personal Estate Whatsoever my Debts legacyes and funeral Charges being first paid I give unto My Nephew William Mackley of Redmell whom I appoint full and Sole Executor of this My last Will and Testament
In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this eight day of September in the year of our lord One Thousand seven hundred and fifty seven And in the Thirty first year of the Reign of our Soveraigne Lord George the Second and so forth

The 8th day of December 1762 William Mackley the within mentioned Sole Executor made oath that all John Mackley’s Personal estate (late of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Weaver Deceased) at the time of His Death was not Worth Twenty Pounds, & was Sworn Before Me
