This is the last Will and Testament of me John Whittle of Harby in the County of Leicester
In the first place I Will that all my just Debts and Funeral expences be paid and discharged
I give and bequeath unto my Son James Whittle the sum of Twenty Pounds
I give and bequeath unto my Son Thomas Whittle the sum of Twenty Pounds
I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth Whittle the sum of Twenty Pounds
All which bequests I Will shall be paid when they severally attain their respective ages of twenty one years by my Executors herein after mentioned, or one of them
And my will further is that my Sons and Daughters above mentioned may have a house and home at my Executors until they are capable of providing for themselves, without having any thing to pay for Meat, Drink, Washing, Lodging, or Clothes, if they behave themselves with Propriety and continue single and unmarried
All the rest residue and remainder of my Goods, Chattels and Personal Estate, whatsoever, and wheresoever, I give and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Elizabeth Whittle, and John Whittle my eldest Son, until he attain his full age of twenty one years, at which time I will that my Son John Whittle aforesaid may have and enjoy the whole paying unto [“my” missing] Wife Elizabeth Whittle five Pounds Yearly and every year during the Term of her Natural Life and also keeping her a Cow both Winter and Summer if she requires it
And I do hereby Nominate, Constitute, and appoint my said Wife Elizabeth Whittle and Son John Whittle full Executors jointly of this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills by me made, and this only to be my last Will and Testament
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal, this twenty fifth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety three

On the 18th day of September 1794 Elizabeth Whittle and John Whittle Executrix and Executor named in the within written Will were sworn to the due execution hereof, and at the same time made oath that all the Testators personal estate at the time of his death was not worth three hundred pounds
