In the name of God Amen I Richard Wright of Claxton Als Long Clawson in the county of Leicester yeoman being sick and weake in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory doe make & ordain this my last will & Testamt in manner following
Impris I commend my Soul into the hands of Allmighty god my creator & my body to the Earth from whence it was taken to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executors hereinafter named hopeing through the onely Merrits & mediation of my blessed lord & Saviour Jesus Christ for a Joyfull resurrection to life Eternal
Allsoe my Will & mind is that Sarah my wife Shall hold and Enjoy to her sole use and benefitt for and during the term of her natural life All and every my Messuages Cottages Closes lands tenemts and hereditamts in Hickling in the county of Nottingham and within the fields and liberties thereof And from and Immediately after the decease of my sd wife I Give devise & bequeath the same premises and hereditamts unto my Brother William Wright his heirs and Assigns for ever he thereout paying unto my two neeces Margaret Patchet and Mary Patchet the sume of five and twenty pounds apeice at their respective ages of one & twenty years or att the End of One whole year next after my sd wives decease which shall last happen to be, and in Case of failure or nonpaymt of the same as aforesd my sd two neeces shall have power to Enter into & upon all & every the aforesd premisses and hereditamts att such times as their respective legacies shall become due and retain & keep the same & every part thereof until paymt of their sd respective Legacies and noe longer
And Allsoe my will & mind further is that my Extors hereinafter named shall sell and dispose of all and every my goods Chattells rights Credditts & personal Estate whatsoever and with the moneys arising thereby in the first place pay all my Just debts my funeral Expences and all other Charges relateing to the Execution of this my will and the overplus (if any be) to be equally divided Betwixt my sd wife and Brother William Wright share & share alike
And lastly I doe hereby make ordain constitute and appoint Robert Garton of Claxton als Long Clawson aforesd and Sarah my sd wife and my sd Brother William Wright Joynt Executors of this my last Will & Testamt hereby revokeing all former Wills & Testamts whatsoever by me at any time heretofore made
In Wittness whereof I the sd Richard Wright have to this my last Will & Testamt set my hand & seal the sixth day of February in the year of our Lord 1717
