Anecdotally, Manor Farm on Hickling Pastures is all that now remains of the original Hickling Manor estates – it is understood that the manorial rights became split from the remaining Manor House a long time ago. The legal status of ‘manorial rights’ has changed significantly but, as a result of this split, it may be that the current owner of Manor Farm is in effect Hickling’s ‘Lord of the Manor’.

(However, considerably more research is needed to fill out this anecdote!)
