In the Name of God Amen I Henry Marriott of Hickling in the County of Nottingham Shepherd being sick weak in Body but of perfect Mind & Memory thanks be to Almighty God therefore do dispose of person & Substance in manner & Form following.
Imprimis I give my Soul to Almighty God expecting remission of my Sins thro’ the Merits & Intercession of my only Saviour Jesus Christs
Item I give & bequeath to my Dear Wife Joan Marriot the House in which She lives without Impeachment of Waste, during the Life of my said Wife together with all the Household Goods which shall be wholly at her disposing
Item I Will that the sd House at the Death of my Wife shall be my eldest Son Thomas Marriot’s & he to pay Ten Pounds to his Brother William Marriot at the End of One Year immediately after the death of the abovesd Joan Marriot.
Item I do give to my Son William Marriot the Sum of Ten pounds to be payd jointly by my Executors hereafter named within the space of 2 years
Item I do give to my Daughter Mary Marriot the Sum of five pounds to be pay’d by me Executors within one year after my decease
Lastly I do nominate, constitute & appoint my Wife Joan Marriot & my eldest Son Thomas Marriot joynt Executors of this my last Will & Testament utterly disallowing revoking & disannulling all other Wills & Testaments heretofore by me made
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand & Deal this twelfth Day of August in the Year of our Lord 1729.
