William Watchorn of Chadwell 1764 Will and Inventory

In the Name of God Amen I William Watchorne of Chadwell otherwise Cawdwell in the County of Leicester Yeoman being well in Body and of Sound mind memory and understanding at this time but calling to mind the uncertainty of this Life Do make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (That is to say)
First I Comend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it in hopes of a Joyfull Resurrection thro’ the alone Meritts of my Saviour Jesus Christ and my Body to the Earth to be decently Interred at the Discretion of my Executor hereinafter named my Debts Legacies & funerall Expences being first paid and Satisfied
And as to the rest of my Goods Chattles and personall Estate whatsoever that I have not Disposed of I Dispose thereof as follows
I First Give and Devise unto my Son Gervas Whatchorne All that my Messuage or Tenement and one fourth and halfe fourth of one Yard Land now Standing lyeing and being in the Town Lordship fields precincts and territories of Wikham and Chadwell otherwise Cawdwell aforesaid To hold the same unto my Son said Gervas Watchorne and his Heires from and after my Decease and if in case my said Son Gervas shall Dye and Depart this Life without Heirs of his Body … I Give and Devise the Same Estate to my Son William Watchorne and his Heirs And for want of Such Issue to my own Right Heirs for ever
I Also Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth Houghton the Sum of Ten pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid her for own Separate use within Twelve Months next after my Decease
And as to the rest of all my Goods Cattle Chattles not herein before my be [sic] bequeathed I Give and bequeath unto my Son William Watchorne whom I make constitute and appoint Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made
In Witness whereof I the said William Watchorne the Testator have hereunto set my hand and Seal the Thirteenth day of December and in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Three

Signed Sealed published and Declared by the Testator for and as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have Subscribed our names as Witnesses hereunto in the Testators presence and at his request In the presence of each after the Severall Interlineations and Erasements were made
