In the Name of God Amen I William Gamble Carpenter & Builder of the Town of Grimstone in the County of Leicester do hereby ordain and appoint this my last Will & Testament revoking all others I ever ordered to be made
In the first place I give and bequeath unto my Wife Isabella Gamble the annual rents and profits of those two fields of grazing lands we now enjoy & occupy in the Parish of Grimstone called by the name of Crosslands my said Wife not to be allowed to cut down any wood or timber trees growing in the hedgerows or plantations but to keep them properly fenced and primed in good order for the use and benefit of my Daughter Sarah Gamble after her Mothers decease
I also give the use and occupation of the house and furniture with the produce of all the Gardens and Orchards for the use of my said Wife and daughter Sarah
I also further give to my said Wife an Annuity of twenty pounds per Annum during her lifetime or so long as she remain my Widow but if she intermarry with any man my Will is and in that case I do hereby direct that she immediately quit & give up all the possessions of Lands House furniture Gardens and all the Appurtenances thereunto belonging in quietness & good order unto my two friends whom I do hereby nominate & appoint my trustees namely the Revd John Wilson of Upper Broughton & Thos Burton of Melton Keeper of the Stamp & Fire wishing my two friends to accept five pounds each for their trouble & protecting care that may be wanted in any way for my Wife & Daughter Sarah
I also give and bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah all my furniture [sic] Lands with all the Appurtenances thereto belonging unto my Daughter Sarah all my freehold Land to her heirs of her body lawfully begotten when she attains the age of twenty one years together with all my monies securities for moneys with all my personal property whatsoever and wheresoever and if my Daur Sarah live to survive the age of twenty one years and wishing to enter into a matrimonial state of life In that case I will and direct that my trustees shall before any such occurrence take place have all my freehold House and lands conveyed over to my Daur Sarah Gamble in a good and lawful Marriage Settlement unto her and her heirs But if my Daughter should die before Marriage or attaining the age of twenty one years and without issue leaving her Mother living then my Will further is so long as her mother remain my Widow that she enjoy the rents & profits of all my Estates for her own use & benefit and then at my Widows decease My Will further is that all my freehold & personal Estates be sold & disposed of in the following manner
To my brother Thomas Gamble two hundred pounds & to all his children then living two hundred pounds each
I give to my Sister Alice Palmer two hundred pounds and to all her children then living two hundred pounds each
I give to my brother James Gamble two hundred pounds & to all his children then living two hundred pounds each
I give to my brother John Gamble ten pounds and to all his children then living ten pounds each
In Witness whereof I the said William Gamble have set my hand and seal to this my last Will & Testament this twenty first day of May in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred & twenty seven

On 9th May 1828 Admon with Will annexed of the Goods of William Gamble late of the Town of Grimstone in the County of Leicester Carpenter & Builder deceased was granted to Isabella Gamble widow the natl & lawful mother next of kin & Curatrix or Guardian lawfully assigned to Sarah Gamble Spr now a Minor the Daur & person principally interested in the residue of the personal Estate Effects of the said deceased for the use & benefit of the said Minor & until she shall attain the age of 21 years being first sworn by Commission duly to Admr No Exor
