Luke Brown of Long Clawson 1816 Will

In the name of God Amen This is the last Will and Testament of me Luke Brown of Claxton otherwise Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Cordwainer
First I give and devise All my Messuage or Tenement Orchard and Gardens situate and being in Claxton otherwise Long Clawson aforesaid and now in my own occupation and all my real Estate whatsoever unto my loving Wife Mary Brown for and during her natural Life And from and immediately after her decease I give and devise the same and every part thereof unto my sons John Brown and William Brown and my Daughter Jane Brown and their respective Heirs and Assigns forever in equal shares to take and hold the same as Tenants in common and not as joint Tenants
And I give and bequeath all my working Tools used in my trade as a Cordwainer to my said son William Brown
And all the Residue and remainder of my Goods Chattels ready money securities for money and all my personal Estate whatsoever I die possessed of I give and bequeath to my said loving Wife Mary Brown for her necessary maintenance and support during her natural Life Subject nevertheless to the payment of all my just debts and in case any part thereof shall remain unexpended by her at her decease I give and bequeath the same to my said sons John Brown and William Brown and my said Daughter Jane Brown and their respective Assigns and I do hereby make and ordain my said loving Wife Mary Brown whole and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament ratifying and declaring this and none other to be my last Will and Testament
In Witness whereof I the said Luke Brown have hereunto set my hand and Seal this twenty second day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixteen

Signed sealed ratified and declared by the within named Luke Brown the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as Witnesses to the due execution thereof

Let a probat be made to Mary Brown of Long Clawson Widow the sole Executrix named in the will of the within named Luke Brown who died 5 June last at Long Clawson
She being duly sworn as well to the faithful Execution of the will as that the testator’s Goods, Chattels & Credits as they were at his death without deducting any Debts owing by him therefrom did not amount in value to the sum of One hundred pounds
