In the Name of God Amen I Joseph Cook of Claxton otherwise Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Husbandman being weak in Body but thank God of Sound Mind and perfect Memory but well knowing the uncertainty of this Life do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament In form and manner following That is to say
First I desire to be buried in decent Christian Burial And as touching my worldly Estate be the same of what nature or kind sover I give and bequeath to my loving Wife Mary Cook and my Son John Cook to be equally divided between them (all my Just Debts and Funeral expences being first thereout paid)
And I do also make and ordain my said loving Wife Mary Cook and my said Son John Cook Joint Executrix and Executor of this my last Will and Testament and I do also hereby humbly desire that John Marriott Gentleman and John Moore Junior Gentleman will Oversee my said Wife and said Son to see that this my Will be duly Executed
And I do also hereby ratify and declare this and none other to be my last Will and Testament
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this Twenty sixth Day of November In the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven Hundred and Seventy nine
