In the name of god Amen I Thomas Cowp of Hicklinge in the Countie of Nottingham laborer beinge sicke in bodye but whole in mynd & of sound and perfect memory praysed be god for the same do ordeyne and make this my last will and Testament in manner and forme followinge
First I give and bequeath my soule to Almightie god my maker saviour and only redeemer and my bodye to be buryed in the church yard of Hicklinge afforesayd
Item I give and bequeath to my brother John Cowp and his children five pownds
Item I give and bequeath to my sister Jane and her children eight pownds
Item I give and bequeath to my sister Mary and her children three pownds
Item I give and bequeath to my sister Alice and her child Fortye shillings
Item I give and bequeath to Elizabeth Slater fortie shillings
Item I give and bequeath towards the repayreinge of the Cawsey in Hicklinge ten shillings
Item I give and bequeath to the poore of Hicklinge ten shillings to be disbursed uppon my funerall daye
Item I give and bequeath unto Mathew Braddell minister of Hicklinge and writer of this will and Testament two shillings
All the rest of my goods undisbursed and bequeathed my funerall expenses discharged I give and bequeath to John Parker whom I make the sole executor of this my last will and Testament
Lastlye I make and ordeyne George Dafte senior and Richard Dafte supervisors of this my last will and Testament giveing to each of them twelve pence a peece
In Witnesse whereof hereunto I have sett my hand the xxviith day of Aprill in the yeare of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord James by the grace of god of England France and Ireland kynge defender of the fayth etc the 8th and of Scotland the xliiith 1610
