In the name of god Amen I John Hawtoft of Harbye in the Countye of Leicester laborer sicke in body but whole in mynd and of perfect and sound memorye praysed be god for the same do ordayne and make this my last will and testament in manner and forme following
First I bequeath my Soule to almighty god my maker saviour and redemer and my bodye to be buried in the churchyard of Harby aforesayd and my goods as followeth
Impris I give to my Sonne William Hawtoft xxs of lawfull money of England
Ite to my Sonne Richard iiil and ten shillings a peece to his two children
Ite to my two god children iiiid a peece
Ite to the poore of the town iis vid to be divided as James Hubbard and Thomas Hitchcocke shall soe cause
All the rest of my goods moveable and immoveable my debts legacies and funerall expences discharged I give and bequeath to Dorythye my wife whome I make and ordeyne sole executrix of this my last will and testament
Moreover I will that if William my Sonne do dye before his legacie be payd that then it returne unto Richard my Sonne and if he shall dye then to his children
Lastly I make James Hubbard and Thomas Hitchcocke Supervisors of this my last will and Testament and give to each of them vid
In wittnesse whereof I set too my hand this xxiiiith of September In the yeare of the reigne of our Soveraigne lord kinge James by the grace of god of Ingland and France and Irland kinge defender of the faith etc the tenth and of Scotland the xlvith Anno Domi 1612
