In the name of god Amen I James Atkinson the Elder of Harby in the County of Leicester Bottell maker being weake in body but of parfect memory prased bee god for it I doe heare ordaine and make this my last will and testament in maner and form following
First I give and bequeath my Soul into the hands of all mighty god and my body for to be buered in the buering plase of Harby above said
And for my outward Estate first I give and bequeath unto Francis Vinsent my son in Law and to Cathorn his wife three pounds sixe shilling eight pence for to bee paid at Witt Sunday in the yeare of our Lord one thousand sixe hundred fifty and eight
Item I give unto Thomas Blankly my Son in law and to Margarit his wife three pounds sixe shilling eight pence half in houshould stufe and half in mony to bee paid at Witt Sunday in the year of our Lord god one thousand sixe hundred fifty and nine
Item I give unto Richard Parker my Son in Law and to Aleis his wife three pounds sixe shilling eight pence half in houshould stuffe and half in mony to bee paid at Witt Sunday in the yeare of our Lord god one thousand sixe hundred and sixty
Item I give unto William Gervise my Son in law and to Elizebeth his wife three pounds six shillings eight pence half of it in houshould stufe and half in mony to bee paid at Witt Sunday in the yeare of our Lord god one thousand sixe hundred sixty and one
Item I give unto Robart Charity my Son in Law and to Mary his wife three pounds sixe shillings Eight pence half of it in houshould stuf and halfe in mony to bee paid at Witt Sunday in the yeare of our Lord god one thousand sixe hundred sixty and tow
Item I give to James Watson twenty shillings for to bee paid when hee is out of his apprentisship
Item I give to my wife Cathorn foure pounds for her to give to whom shee pleseth at her Desease
Item I give to Elezebeth Atkinson Dauter of James Atkinson my Son Three pounds seen shillings for to be paid in the yeare of our Lord god one thousand six hundred sixty and three
Item my will is to have seen Shillings a yeare duering my natuerall Life and the natuerall life of Cathorn my wife and the Longer Liveer of us
Item I give to James Atkinson my Son and to his heares for ever all that Cottadge house lying and being in Harby with all there to belonging both in feald and towne
Item After my desease and Cathorn my wife and the longer liver of us I give to my Son James Atkinson all my Cattell and Chattell whatsoever unbequeathed
Item I doe ordaine and make my son James Atkinson full Joynt full and Lawfull Executor of this my Last will and testament
In Witness whearof I have heare unto sett my hand and seale this fifteen day of December In the yeare of our Lord god one thousand sixe hundred fifty and sixes 1656
