This is the last Will and Testament of me Hellen Auwood of Scalford in the County of Leicester Spinster
First I desire to be Buried in such manner as my Sisters were
In the first Place I Give and Bequeath unto my Cousin John Rowlett the Sum of Ten pounds
And also I Give and Bequeath unto my Godson Joshua Woolland the Sum of fifteen Pounds
And also I Give and Bequeath unto Humphrey Birch of Gunby in the County of Lincoln Shepherd the Sum of fifteen Pounds
And also I Give and Bequeath unto my late Servant Mary Forman the Sum of five Pounds
And also I Give and Bequeath unto my Cousin Sarah Nevison the Sum of fifteen Pounds
And also I Give and Bequeath unto my Cousin Mary Baxter the wife of William Baxter of Thorpe Byewater in the County of Rutland Yeoman the sum of five Pounds
And also I Give and Bequeath unto John Granger the Elder Shepherd the Sum of Ten Pounds
And also I Give and Bequeath unto my Cousin John Auwood of Croxton Kerrial in the said County of Leicester weaver the sum of Ten Pounds
And also I Give and Bequeath unto William Fann of Scalford aforesaid Grocer the Sum of Ten Pounds
And also I Give and Bequeath unto Martha Fann of Scalford aforesaid Spinster the Sum of Twenty Pounds
And also I Give and Bequeath unto Mary Dixon the wife of John Dixon of Eastwell in the said County of Leicester Grazier the sum of Two Pounds and Ten Shillings
And also I Give and Bequeath unto Elizabeth Rimmington the wife of William Rimmington of Croxton Kerrial aforesaid farmer the like Sum of Two Pounds and Ten Shillings
And also I Give and Bequeath unto Thomas Wilford the Son of William Wilford of Scalford aforesaid Grazier the Sum of Ten Pounds
And also I Give and Bequeath unto Thomas Smart of Scalford aforesaid the Sum of Ten pounds
And also I Give and Bequeath unto my two Cousins Elizabeth Bach and her Sister Susannah Oswin the wife of John Oswin of Scalford aforesaid Grazier the Two Daughters of Cornelius Bach of Liddington in the said County of Rutland farmer the Sum of five Pounds a Piece
And also I Give and Bequeath unto my Cousin Elizabeth Lunn of Barrowby in the said County of Lincoln Widow the Sum of five Pounds
And also I Give and Bequeath unto my Cousin Theodosia Lovett the Sum of Ten pounds
And also I Give and Bequeath unto my Cousin Judith Lovett the like Sum of Ten pounds
And also I Give and Bequeath unto my Cousin John Finedon the Son of Mary Finedon of Brigstock in the County of Northampton Widow the Sum of fifteen pounds
And also I Give and Bequeath unto Thomas Hall the Son of Thomas Hall of Saxby in the said County of Leicester Grazier the Sum of Ten pounds
And also I Give and Bequeath unto my Servant Elizabeth Goodwin the Sum of Two pounds and Two Shillings
And I do by this my said Will order that all and every the said Legacies last mentioned shall be paid to the said Several Persons within Twelve Months next after my Decease by my Executors herein after Named
And also I Give and Bequeath unto the Poor of Scalford aforesaid the Sum of Ten Pounds to be paid unto the Minister and Churchwardens of Scalford aforesaid immediately after my Decease by my said Executors To the intent that my said Executors together with the said Minister and Churchwardens Do and shall then Pay and Dispose of the said Sum of Ten Pounds to and amongst such Poor and Indigent People of Scalford aforesaid as shall seem meet and Convenient to them as Proper Objects to Receive the same as soon as may be after my Burial
And also I Give and Bequeath unto Robert Parr William Lavidge and William Forman and to each of them Hatband and Gloves
And also I Give and Bequeath unto Frances Torkington the wife of William Torkington of Stamford in the said County of Lincoln Gentleman my Silver Boat
And also I Give and Bequeath unto Richard Inett the Son of Richard Inett of Melton Mowbray in the said County of Leicester Surgeon my Silver Cup
And also I Give and Bequeath unto my said Cousin Sarah Nevison my Brown Silk Gown and the Glass in my Closett
And also I Give and Bequeath unto my said Cousin Mary Baxter One large Table Cloth
And also I Give and Bequeath unto the said Martha Fann my Green Silk Gown
And also I Give and Bequeath unto Jane Wilford the Wife of the said William Wilford One Small Table Cloth
And also I Give and Bequeath unto my friend Frances Inett the Wife of the said Richard Inett my Great Glass in my Parlour which I Bought of the Executors of my late Nephew Thomas Wilburn Deceased
And I do hereby order and Direct all the Goods last Mentioned to be Delivered to the Several Persons above Names as soon as may be after my Decease by my said Executors
And Lastly All and Singular the Rest and Residue of my Household Goods other Goods Stock Cattle Chattles Rights Credits and Personal Estate of what kind or Nature soever (my Debts Legacies and funeral Expences being first paid and Discharged) I Give and Bequeath unto Edward Stokes the Elder of Melton Mowbray aforesaid Gentleman and the said William Fann as and for a Compensation for their Care and Trouble in the Execution of this my said Will whom likewise I do hereby Appoint full and Joint Executors of this my said last Will Revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made
In Witness whereof I the said Hellen Auwood the Testatrix have hereunto Set my Hand and Seal this Thirtieth day of December in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy One
