John Barks of Scalford 1786 Will

I John Barks of Scalford in the County of Leicester, Weaver, do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament In form and manner following That is to say
First I Give and Devise my House or Messuage, Situate, standing and being in the Parish of Scalford aforesaid, which I now live in, and all the Appurtenances thereto belonging, With all that my Close in the Liberties of Scalford aforesaid, now in my own occupation, To my Son Samuel Barks to Hold to him and his Heirs for Ever
Item I Give and Devise to my Son John Barks the sum of five Pounds to be paid by my Executor Herein after mentioned
Lastly I Give and bequeath all the Rest and Remainder of my Goods, Chattels, and Personal Estate of what Nature, Or kind soever, To my aforesaid Son Samuel Barks Whom I do hereby make, Constitute, and Ordain whole and Sole Executor of this my Last will and Testament, And I do hereby Confirm, Ratify, and Declare this and none other to be my last Will and Testament
In Witness whereof I have Hereunto set my Hand and Seal this Twenty fifth day of October in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Three

Signed, Sealed, published and Declared by the said Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us, who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have Subscribed our names as Witnesses thereto

Let a probat be made to Samuel Barks the sole Executor within named
He being duly sworn as well to the faithful Execution of the Will as that the Testators Goods Chattels and Credits do not amount in Value to the sum of Twenty Pounds
