This is our first big Belvoir Angels event to explore and celebrate these distinctive headstones found across the Vale of Belvoir – we hope that more will follow.
Please take a little time to explore the information, images and links on our other Belvoir Angels pages; if you can help with our research or have any questions, please get in touch.
Many thanks to everyone who made this such a special weekend; for your time and your interest and for your kindness and generosity, too!
Would you like to know more?
Would you like to get involved?
Are you interested in joining a Belvoir Angels Society?
During a lively discussion event on Sunday 19th May (with cake!) it was decided that we should pursue the idea of establishing a Belvoir Angels Society:
What have we learned from the past? What can we do in the present? What could we do in the future?
We are in the very early stages and everything will evolve and change as we go along. At this stage, please let us know if you would like us to keep in touch with you. You can contact us at belvoirangelssociety@outlook.com or via the Belvoir Angels FB group. There’s no pressure—just a shared interest & curious minds!!
A real highlight on Saturday was to be joined by Vanessa Stone who is a textiles artist with a special interest in the Belvoir Angels; you can find out more on her webpage: BELVOIR ANGELS — Vanessa Stone (vanessastoneartist.com)
Programme for the weekend:
Saturday 10am – 4pm – drop in to Church for Belvoir Angels information and history; arts & crafts; refreshments; Churchyard Tours (11am, 1pm, 2pm); Tower Tours (10am-1pm); Bookstall & more! Entry is free.
Sunday – 2-4pm, Hickling Village Hall – Belvoir Angels, Past, Present and Future.
We want to talk about what to do next; more Belvoir Angels events? A Belvoir Angels Society? Research groups? Conservation projects?Free event; donations welcomed.
