20th day of November Anno Dom 1639
In the name of God Amen I William Bennitt of Saxilbie in the Countie of Leicester Sheapheard, being sick in bodie but whole in mind, doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and forme following
First I bequeath my soule to Almightie God, trusting to be saved by the meritts death & passion of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and my bodie to be buried in the churchyard of Saxilbie
Item I give to Alice my eldest daughter ten shillinges, and to her children Alice & Marie five shillinges a peece
Item I give to Marie my daughter ten poundes of lawfull English money
Item I give to Francis my daughter Tenn poundes of like money
Item I give Ann my daughter Tenn poundes of like money
Item I give to Francis my daughter above named this bedstead wherin I now doe lie
And my will is that these porcions above named shalbe payed as my children shall come to the age of one and twentie yeares
Item I give to Alice Robbingson my sister fortie shillinges
Item I give to Richarde Browne my sonn in law twelve penc
The rest of my goodes undisposed my debts being payed and funerall expences discharged I give to William Bennitt my sonn whom I doe make my sole executor of this my last will & testament
And I desire Henrie Gamble to be overseer of this my will
