Bee it known unto all men by these presents That I Hugh Berry of Scalford in the County of Leister husbandman for & in consideration that Willm Berry my son shall maintain & provide for Alice Berry his mother meate drinke apparell fire & lodging & all other things necessary for her during her naturall life, & also pay her yearely, during the sd terme, five shillings in good & Lawfull money of England, Have given granted bargained & sold, & by these presents doe give grant bargain & sell, unto the sd Willm Berry my son & to his heires & assignes for ever All & all maner of goods cattells & chattells moveable or unmoveable quicke or dead, which are or any way belong unto mee the sd Hugh Berry (save onely what shalbe herein excepted viz: All my bedding blankittes coverlids & sheets with my best brasse pan) To have & to hold all the sd goods cattells & chattells but what are before mentioned & referred, unto the sd Willm Berry his heires executors or assigns under the Condicon above specified, from the day of my decease & not before, in as large & ample maner as if the sd Hugh Berry may or might have enjoyed the same
