The fifte of Februarie 1592 In the name of god Amen I John Bringest of Eaton being sicke in body but of good and perfect Rememberance thanks be to god doe make this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge
Firste I bequeathe my soule into the hands of Almightie god and my bodye to be buryed in the Church of Eaton
I gyve to everye poore Cottyer of the Towne of Eaton a pecke of Barley
Item I gyve and bequeathe to my ii sonnes & my ii daughters every of them vi li a peece
Also I gyve to the Childe that my wife is now withal six pounds if yt lyve But if yt dye then I will that the same last vi li returne to my wife
And also if any of my other foure Children Chaunce to dye then I will that theire porcon or porcons remayne to the rest of my Children alive
All the rest of my goods unbequeathed I gyve and bequeath to my wife Izabell whom I make my full executor
And also I make my brother Robte Baker my overseer and I gyve unto him a Ewe and a Lambe worthe xs
My debts are as followeth
I owe of my mother xxv li
More given me by my father his will xls
I owe of Willm Arden of Redmell x li
More I owe of him xxxiiiis
The x li that is in Willm Ardens hand is dewe to Daniell Capendale if he have not the farme
