In the name of God Amen the 26th day of September in the year of our Lord 1721 I Gabriel Caunt of Stathern in the County of Leicester Yeoman being blessed be God in sound Mind & Memory do make & ordain this my last Will & Testament in manner & form following
First I comend my soul to Almighty God my Creatour trusting thro the merits of Jesus Christ my Redeemer to obtain forgivenesse of my sins & to inerit Eternall life My Body I comit to the grave And for the disposal of my Worldly estate I devise the same as followeth
First I give & bequeath to my son Samuel Caunt my House, out houses, with all my lands lying & being in the Parishes of Stathern & Harby to him & the Heirs of his body And in default of such Heir or Heirs I give the House with two Oxgangs belonging to it to the eldest son of my son Gabriel Caunt And the rest of the Land to the Son of George Wells by my Daughter Alice
Item I bequeath to my son Gabriel Caunt the Cottage now inhabited by the Widow Glen with 3 leys thereto belonging Provided that my Wife Bridget Caunt shall have all the above mentioned houses & lands in her possession for her naturall life
Item I bequeath to my son George Caunt an hundred pounds lawfull
Item I bequeath to my son John Caunt after the decease of my Wife sixty pds lawfull
Item I appoint my son Samuel Above named Executor of this my last Will & Testament by which I make null and void all other Wills whatsoever
