This is the last Will and Testament of me Stephen Daft of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Grazier

I devise all my real Estate situate at Hose in the said County of Leicester unto my wife Alice and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life without Impeachment of waste and from and after her death I devise the same unto my Nephew Stephen the Son of my late Brother John his heirs and assigns for ever Subject to the following Legacies which I direct to be paid by him at the expiration of Six Calendar Months after the death of my said Wife

To Eliza the Wife of John Seals the sum of Forty pounds for her separate use and I declare that her receipt alone shall be sufficient discharge for the same

To my Brother George the sum of Thirty pounds and to my Nephew and Nieces namely the two Daughters of my said Brother George four of the children of my late Brother John namely John Thomas Mary and Martha and four of the children of my late Sister Mary [married name Mary Carlisle] namely her natural Son John Daft her Son Stephen and her two Daughters Hannah and Charlotte the sum of Nineteen pounds and nineteen shillings apiece

I give all my personal Estate whatsoever unto my said Wife subject to the payment of my debts funeral and testamentary expenses and I appoint William Adams Stokes of Nottingham Upholsterer sole Executor of this my Will

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this Twenty fifth day of July in the year One thousand eight hundred and seventy seven

The Testator Stephen Daft was late of Long Clawson in the County of Leicester Grazier and died on the Fourth day of September 1877 at Long Clawson aforesaid
