September 5 1656 In the name of God Amen I Robert Gamble of Grimston als Grimson in the Countie of Leicester Miller & husbandman in perfect minde & memory praised be God for it doe constitute & ordaine & make this my last Will & Testament in manner & forme following
First I bequeath my Soule into the hands of Almightie God & my body to be buried in Grimson Church yard
First I doe bequeath unto my Daughter Jeasse Simpsson [Jese Gamble married William Simpson at Grimston] the Wife of William Simpsson twelve pence
It I doe bequeath unto Thomas Barnes Sunn to my Wife fortie Shillinnes
It I give unto my Daughter Elizabeth Gamble Twelve Pence
It it is my will that my Wife seeing my funerale discharged shal be solle Executor of this my will & Testament
It I doe bequeath to my Wife one Cottage howse in Grimson with the whomstead two Beast pastures ten Sheepe Comons one lay on the Brooke laies one Land butting on the wind mill and the Barne and the whomestead belonging to the cottage howse in Grimston aforesaid
It I desire my Brother Robert Barnes of Dalby on the woulds in the Countie of Leicester husbandman to be oreseer of this my Will and Testament and I doe give him twelve pence for his paines
