William Gamble of Saxelby 1785 Will

This is the Last Will and Testament of me William Gamble the Elder of Saxelby in the County of Leicester Grazier which I make and ordain in manner and form following (that is to say)
Imprimis All those two Messuages or Tenements Hereditaments and Premises with their and every of their appurtenances which I bought and Purchased of one Samuel Brown Situate standing and being within the Lordship or Liberty of Nether Broughton in the said County of Leicester and now in the several Tenures or occupations of Charles Chester and Edward Hopkins I hereby Give and Devise unto my Son William Gamble his Heirs and Assigns forever
Item I hereby Give and Bequeath unto my Brother Thomas Gamble of Kings Cliff in the County of Northampton Miller and my Brother in Law Thomas Johnston of Saxelby aforesaid Grazier their Executors or Administrators the Sum of Eighty Pounds to be Paid to them Twelve Months after my Decease by my Executor hereinafter named Upon this Special Trust and Confidence in them Reposed That they the said Thomas Gamble and Thomas Johnston their Executors or Administrators Do and shall (so soon afterwards as Conveniently can be) Put and Place the said Sum of Eighty Pounds out at Interest upon one or more good Security or Securities and in their or one of their own name or names And to continue the same so out at Interest as aforesaid untill my Son John Gamble shall attain his Age of Twenty one years And in the mean time to Pay over and Apply the Interest and Produce of the said Sum of Eighty Pounds (after Retaining to him and themselves all reasonable Charges occasioned relative to the Execution of this Trust) towards the Maintenance Cloathing Educating and bringing up of my said Son John Gamble until such time as aforesaid And when and so soon as he my said Son John Gamble shall have Attained his said age of Twenty one Years Then at such time I hereby Give and Bequeath the said Principal Sum of Eighty Pounds unto him my said Son John Gamble his Executors or Administrators together with all the Interest that shall then be due for the same
Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Eldest Son Thomas Gamble the sum of one Guinea to be Paid by my Executor hereinafter named Immediately after my Decease
Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth Gutridge the Wife of Francis Gutridge of Somerby in the said County of Leicester her Executors or Administrators the Sum of Ten Pounds to be Paid her within twelve months next after my Decease by my said Executor
Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Ann Wall the Wife of George Wall of Freeby in the said County of Leicester her Executors or Administrators the sum of Ten Pounds to be Paid her within twelve months next after my Decease by my said Executor
Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Lucy Dixon the Wife of Benjamin Dixon of Kings Cliff aforesaid her Executors or Administrators the sum of Ten Pounds to be Paid her within twelve months next after my Decease by my said Executor
Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Gamble her Executors or Administrators the sum of forty Pounds to be Paid her twelve months next after my Decease by my said Executor
And Lastly All my ready money monies out at Interest and Securities for money and also all my Goods Cattle Chattels and Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever I hereby Give and Bequeath unto my aforesaid Son William Gamble his Executors and Administrators at my Decease Subject nevertheless and Chargeable with the Payment of the aforesaid Legacies to the Several Persons hereinbefore mentioned And all my Just Debts and Funeral Expences
And I do hereby make nominate Constitute and Appoint my said Son William Gamble Sole Executor of this my last Will
In Witness whereof I the said William Gamble the Father and Testator have to this my last Will and Testament Contained to two Sheets of Paper set and Put my hand and Seal to each Sheet this Eleventh day of March in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Five

The Writing Contained on this and the Preceeding Sheet of Paper were signed and sealed by the within named William Gamble the Father and Testator And by him Published and declared as and for his last Will and Testament in the Presence of us, who have Subscribed our names as Witnesses hereto in the Presence of the said Testator and at his Request

William Gamble the sole Executor named in the within written will was sworn to the due Execution thereof & made Oath that the whole of the deceased’s personal estate did not amount to the sum of two hundred pounds
