In the name of god Amen I John Goodicary of Hollwell senior in the county of Leicester weaver being sick of body but of good & perfect memory do make this my last will & testament, hereby disannulling all former wills, in manner & forme following
Imprimis I give & bequeath my soul to god who gave it mee trusting only for salvation by Jesus Christ; & my body to bee buried att the discretion of my Executrix hearafter mentioned, And as for my worldly goods I dispose of them as followes
It I give to my loveing wife Dorothy Goodicary all those two Roods of grounds which I purchased of my father John Goodicary & of my Elder brother William Goodicary, & all that dwelling house wherein I now dwell, with all other the houses & buildings which I have erected & built on the same, to her to have & to hold for ever, freely to give away & dispose of as shee in her discretion shall think fit
It I give my son John Goodicary of Market Orton one shilling
It I give to the children of Mary Lame late of Somerby one shilling
It I give to all my other Children viz: Thomas, William, Samuel Elizabeth Katherine & Amy twelve pense a peice
At all the rest of goods & cattell & chattels I give to my loveing wife Dorothy Goodicary whom I make the Executrix of this my last will & testament, my debts being first paid & funerall charge defraid
In witnes whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 22d day of February Anno Dni 1692/3
