I John Goodacre of Holwell in the county of Leicester Being by the Blessing of Almighty God in Good Health and of sound and well disposing mind do constitute and appoint this my will and testament in maner following
First I will that all my just debts and funeral expences be paid out of my real or Personal Property by my Executor hearafter named and I do appoint my son Thomas Goodacre Executor to this my will which is that my whole Property at the time of my Decease be disposed of and Divided into Eight Equal shares
One to Ann the wife of George Horsepool or her children in equal shares
Another Eighth in equal shares to the children of my departed son William Goodacre
Another eighth to my son Thomas or in equal shares to his surviving children
Another eighth to my son John Goodacre or his surviving children in equal shares
Another Eighth to Mary the wife of Charles Chester or her surviving children in equal shares
Another eighth to Ellen the Wife of John Stafford or her surviving children in equal shares
Another Eighth to my son Richard Goodacre
And the other eighth to my son Henry Goodacre
The Last two sons not being married I will that should they die and leave children Born in wedlock that then they share their fathers Part as I have appointed the others
And I further will that should my Executor be disposed to Buy the House at Holwell my Property that it be valued to him at a fair valuation by two impartial men he paying the other seven shares as I have appointed them

In Her Majesty’s Court of Probate The District Registry of the Counties of Leicester and Rutland In the Goods of John Goodacre deceased
I Thomas Sharpe of Holwell in the County of Leicester Shoemake make Oath that I am one of the subscribing Witnesses to the last Will and Testament of the said John Goodacre late of Holwell aforesaid in the County of Leicester Weaver deceased the said Will being now hereunto annexed bearing date the sixteenth day of September One thousand eight hundred and forty one and that the said Testator executed the said Will on the day of the date thereof by signing his name at the foot or end thereof as the same now appears thereon in the presence of my and of Joseph Smart late of Abb Kettleby in the said County Schoolmaster the other subscribing Witness thereto both of us being present at the same time and we thereupon attested and subscribed the said Will in the presence of the said Testator
