William Goodson of Harby 1791 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me William Goodson of Harby in the County of Leicester

In the first place I will that my Executors hereinafter mentioned shall find and provide for my beloved Wife Elizabeth Goodson meet competent and sufficient Meat, Drink, Clothing, Washing, Lodging and all other necessarys during the term of her natural life if she continues my widow and chooses to live with them and also pay her yearly and every year the sum of one pound, But if she does not choose to live with them, Then I give and bequeath unto my said Wife the sum of five Pounds a year Annuity in lieu thereof for the payment of which I charge all my real Estate

I give and devise unto my Sons Joseph and George Goodson all that my Messuage or Tenement Homestead Garden out buildings and premises together with half an Oxgang of Land and every appurtenant thereunto belonging situate and being within the Liberty of Harby aforesaid now in my own Possession And also one other Messuage or Tenement Homestead Garden out buildings and premises together with half an oxgang of Land and every appurtenant thereunto belonging situate and being within the Liberty of Harby aforesaid and now or late in the Occupation of Richard Julian I give and devise the same to them (as separate tenants) their heirs and assigns for ever

I give and bequeath unto my son William Goodson the sum of twenty pounds one moiety thereof to be paid him one year and the other moiety two years after my decease

I give and bequeath unto my son John Goodson the sum of twenty pounds to be paid him when he attains his full age of twenty one years

I give and bequeath unto my two daughters Elizabeth and Ann Goodson the sum of fifteen pounds each

And All the rest residue and remainder of my Goods Chattels and Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever I give and bequeath unto my aforesaid two sons viz Joseph and George Goodson whom I also appoint Executors jointly of this my last Will and Testament revoking all former Wills by me at any time made and this only to be my last Will and Testament

In witness whereof I the said William Goodson the Testator have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventeenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty three
