This is the last Will and Testament of me John Guy of Abb Kettleby in the County of Leicester Grazier
I direct all my just debts funeral and Testamentary Expences to be fully paid
I Give and Devise All that my Messuage or Tenement Closes Lands hereditaments and Real Estate with the Appurtenances situate in Hickling in the County of Nottingham in the occupation of John Collishaw Unto my brother Andrew Guy his heirs and Assigns for ever Subject nevertheless to the payment thereout by him of the Sum of Five hundred Pounds by way of Equitable Mortgage charged thereon
I Give and Devise All that my Close or Ground inclosed situate in the Lordship of Abb Kettleby aforesaid in my own occupation containing Eighteen Acres more or less Unto the Three Sons of my said brother Andrew namely Edward Andrew and Thomas Guy their heirs and Assigns for ever as Tenants in Common and not as joint Tenants Subject nevertheless to the payment thereout of the sum of Three hundred Pounds which I borrowed thereon by way of Equitable mortgage of The Revd Philip Osborne and I direct the rents and profits of the said Close be applied for the benefit of my three Nephews the said Edward Andrew and Thomas Guy during their respective Minorities
Whereas my late brother William Guy stood indebted to William Clark in the Sum of One hundred Pounds on the joint note of himself and Two Sureties George Smith and Thomas Sharp Now I hereby direct my Executors to pay the said Sum of 100£ out of my Personal Estate in discharge thereof and also all Interest due thereon to the time of Payment free from Legacy Duty
I Give to my brother in law Charles Smith the Legacy or Sum of One hundred and fifty pounds free from Legacy Duty
I Give to my Two Neices Mary Morris Guy and Sarah Ann Guy the two daughters of my Said late brother William Guy the Sum of Fifty Pounds apeice to be paid as they Severally come of Age but to be vested legacies at my decease free from Duty
To my Housekeeper Mary Pepper I Give the Legacy or Sum of Thirty Pounds for her own use free from Legacy Duty
And as to all my Goods Chattels Stock monies Securities for monies and all other the rest residue and remainder of my Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever I Give and bequeath the same Unto and Equally between my Two brothers Edward Guy and the said Andrew Guy their Executors Administrators and Assignes share and Share alike
And I appoint the said Edward Guy and Andrew Guy Joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made

Whereas I John Guy have on the other half sheet of this Paper made my Will dated the 27th day of August last Past Now I doe hereby declare this to be a Codicil to my said Will and do direct the same to be taken as part thereof
Whereas I have in my said Will Given my Housekeeper Mary Pepper the Legacy or Sum of Thirty Pounds Now I do hereby Give and bequeath to her the further Sum of Twenty Pounds making together a legacy of Fifty Pounds to be paid to her free from Legacy Duty and do confirm my said Will in every other particular thereof
In Witness whereof I have to this Codicil Set my hand this 17th day of September 1854

Twenty eighth day of February 1855
Let a Probate be made to Edward Guy of Branstone in the County of Leicester Grazier and Andrew Guy of Eaton in the said County Grazier the joint Executors named in the Will of the deceased with a Codicil thereto
They having been first duly Sworn to the truth and faithful performance of the said Will and Codicil as usual and to the truth of the usual Affidavit for the Inland Revenue Office that the goods chattels and credits of the Testator without deducting anything on account of debts due or owing by him therefrom do not amount in value to the sum of One thousand and five hundred Pounds and that the said Testator died on the First day of October last past
