In the Name of God Amen I Joseph Hawley of Harby in the County of Leicester Yeoman being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following
First I will that all my just Debts Legacies and Funeral Expences be paid and satisfied
I give and devise unto my nephew John Harby of Harby aforesaid and his Heirs for ever All those my three Lands in the Fields of Harby aforesaid with the appurtenances which were purchased by my Father of [blank] Glynne
All the rest of my messuages Cottages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments whatsoever Situate and being in Harby aforesaid or elsewhere in the Kingdom of England I give and Devise unto my Brothers Philip Hawley and Richard Hawley and my Sister Elizabeth Harby Widow all of Harby aforesaid for and during the Term of their Natural Lives and the Life of the longer Liver of them And from and after the Decease of the longer liver of them then I give and devise the said rest of my messuages Cottages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments in manner following (that is to say)
All that my messuage or Tenement wherein I now dwell with the Buildings Yards Gardens and Homestead Commons and Appurtenances thereunto belonging and one oxgang of Land in Harby aforesaid commonly called the Old Oxgang with the Appurtenances I give and devise to my nephew Joseph Harby of Harby aforesaid and his Heirs for ever
And all that Oxgang of Land in Harby aforesaid with the appurtenances which my Brother John Hawley purchased of [blank] Blowers and all the rest of my Messuages Cottages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments I give and devise unto my said Nephew John Harby and his Heirs forever
I give the use but not the property of my Silver Tankard to my said Sister Elizabeth Harby for her Life and after her Decease I give the said Silver Tankard to my said Nephew John Harby
I give to my said Brother Richard Hawley the Use but not the property of my Gold Watch for his Life and after his Decease I give the said watch to my said Nephew Joseph Harby
I give to my said Sister Elizabeth Harby my Silver pint mugg and to my said Brother Richard Hawley my Silver half pint mugg two Silver Salts and my Silver pepper Box
I also give unto my said Nephew Joseph Harby my large Looking Glass with a walnut Free Frame which was my Brother John Hawleys
I give to my Nephew Thomas Hand and to my niece Elizabeth Johnson one Shilling apiece
All the rest of my Goods Chattells and personal Estate of what nature or Kind soever and wheresoever not hereinbefore by me disposed of I give and bequeath to my said Brothers Philip and Richard Hawley and to my said Sister Elizabeth Harby to be equally divided between and amongst them Share and Share alike
And I do make my said Brothers Philip and Richard Hawley and my said Sister Elizabeth Harby Joint Executors and Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revokeing all former Wills by me at any Time heretofore made
In Witness whereof I the said Joseph Hawley have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this Eleventh Day of July in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Two
