In The name of gode amen The Seconde daie of Auguste in the yere of oure lorde gode a Thowsande five hundrethe seventie & foure and in the sixteen yere of the Reigne of our Soveraigne Ladie Elizabeathe by the grace of god Quene of Engelande Frannce and Irelande Defender of the Faythe &c I Thomas Hewitt Clerke parson of Saxulbye within the countie of Leicester beinge of whole mynde and in goode and perfecte rememberance (laude and prayse be unto allmightie god) doe make and ordayne this my laste will and Testament in maner and forme folowinge

Fyrste I comende my soule unto allmightie gode my maker and redemer and my bodie to the yerthe from whence itt came to be buried within the church or Channcell of Saxulby aforesaide

It I will that all suche debtes and dewties as I owe of righte or in conscience to everye person or personnes be well and Trewlie satisfied and paide by my executor hereafter named withoute enye delaye or contradiction

It I doe geve and bequiethe to John Bayley my kinsman fyve pounds

It I geve to Anne Oxwarde my kynswoman sixe pounds

It I geve and bequete to Elizabeathe Oxwarde my kynswoman three pounds vis viiid

All the Residwe of my goods cattailes and debts that are owinge to me I doe geve and bequeithe to James Oxwarde my kinsman whom I make my lawfull and onelye Executor of this my laste wyll and Testament

And I utterlie revoke and adnull all and everie other Testamente, and Testaments will or wills, legacies bequestes & executors by me in enye wise before this time made, named, willed or bequeathed

Theise beinge wittnesses Mr Robert Brokesby of Sholby [sic] esquire and Mr xpofer Bardsey parson of Asfordby with others
