This is the last Will and Testament of me Ann Holmes of Scalford in the county of Leicester Widow
I give and bequeath the following legacies to be paid by my Executor hereinafter named out of my personal estate at the expiration of twelve months from my death namely
To my daughter Ann the wife of George Thornton Fifty pounds
To my Son David Holmes Fifty pounds
To my Son Thomas Holmes Fifty pounds
To my daughter Mary the wife of Richard Sharpe Fifty pounds
To my daughter Elizabeth the wife of George Marriott Fifty pounds
And to my Son William Holmes Fifty pounds
Subject to the payment of my debts funeral and testamentary expenses I give and bequeath all my household Furniture and effects and all other the personal Estate of which I shall die possessed except what I have before bequeathed unto my Son John Holmes absolutely And I appoint him Sole Executor of this my will for the purposes aforesaid
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 28th day of February one thousand eight hundred and sixty six

Signed by the said Testatrix as her last Will in the presence of us who in her presence at her request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses And we do hereby certify that the same was read over to the said Testatrix in our presence before the execution thereof by her and that she seemed to understand the contents thereof

Proved at Leicester the nineteenth day of February 1869 by the oath of John Holmes Son of the deceased the Sole Executor to whom Administration was granted
The Testatrix Ann Holmes was late of Scalford in the county of Leicester Widow and died on the fifth day of March 1866 at Scalford aforesaid
