In the name of God amen the twenty ninth day of May 1757 I Edward Houlmes of Eaton in the County of Leicester Blacksmith being very weak in Body but of perfect Mind and Memory thanks be given unto God therefore Calling unto Mind the Mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to dye do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament
First I recomend my Sole into the Hand of Almighty God
Secondly I recomend my Body to the Earth to be deceantly buried at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter Mentoned and When my Debts and Funeral Expences are all paid and Discharged I Give the Rest of Resedue of my worldly goods which it hath pleased god to possess me of viz
Imprimus I give and bequeath to my Eldest daughter Ann the Wife of Thomas Marshall of London the Sum of one Shilling
I give and bequeath to my second daughter Elen Houlmes the sum of one shilling
I give and bequeath to my youngest daughter Elizebeth Houlmes the sum of one shilling
Also I give and bequeath to Ann my dearly beloved Wife and William Houlmes my well beloved Son whom I likewise make constitute and ordain my Sole Executrix and Executor Joyently to gather of this my Last Will and Testement All and Singular my househould Goods and Chattles and quick goods that I have by them freely to possess and injoy
And I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every oather former will and Legacies bequests and Executors by mee in any ways before named and bequested Ratifieing and Confirming this and no oather to be my Last Will and testement in witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal the Date and year above written
