In the Name of God Amen The 13th day of May 1738 according to the Computation of the Church of England I Frances Holwell of Grimstone in the County of Leicester Widow being of perfect memory and remembrance praised be God do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following viz
First I bequeath my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God my Maker hoping through the Meritorious Death and Passion of Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer to receive free pardon and forgiveness of all my Sins; and as for my body to be buried in Christian Burial at the discretion of my Executor hereafter nominated
Imprimis I give to my Daughter Millicent Normanton the Sum of one Shilling and all my Wearing Apparel Except my best gown
Item I give to my Grandaughter Mary Green my Best Gown and two of the Best Pewter Dishes also two Pounds ten Shillings a lawfull due Debt of Lent money to John Normanton: my will is that the aforesaid Sum of money I give to my Grandaughter Mary Green to be Paid by John Normanton his Heirs Executors or Assigns at the age of Twenty one years
Item I give to my Son William Palmer the sum of one Shilling
Item all the rest of my goods and Chattels I give to my Beloved Son John Holwell upon condition that he pay all my Debts and Legacies and Burial Charges and do make him my sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament revoking all other Wills that hath been by me made
