Nicholas Hough of Holwell 1724 Will

In the Name of God Amen, I Nicholas Hough of Hollwell in the County of Leicester laborer being weak of body but of A sound disposing mind and memory praised be almighty god for the same, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following
First I commit my soul into the hands of almighty god hoping by the merits of Jesus Christ to be saved; and my body I commit to the grave, to be decently interr’d according to the discretion of my Executors herein after nam’d
And as to such worldly estate or goods which it hath pleased almighty god to entrust me with, I dispose hereof as followeth, that is to say
First, I give to my daughter Mary Hough all my real estate (my debts Legacies and funerall charges being first paid out of it) during the term of her naturall life, and then and immediately from thenceforth after her decease I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Hough all my said estate to him and his Heirs for ever providing still that my debts Legacies and funerall charges be first paid out of it
Item I give to my daughter Alice Hough the sum of five pounds of good and lawfull money of Great Brittain including what I owe to her to be paid within twelve months after my decease
Item I give to my daughter Elizabeth the summ of ten shilling
Item I give to my daughter Ann the summ of ten shillings
And as to my goods and personall estate undispos’d of I appoint them to be sold by Mr John Hurst Mr John Courtiville Charles Moulton and St John Kirke whom I nominate constitute and ordain Executors of this my last will and Testament, making void all former wills; and my further will is lastly that they my Executors shall be allow’d out of the estate all the expences and charges they shall be at in performing this my last will
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twentyth day of February one thousand seven hundred and twenty three
