In the name of God Amen the Twentieth day of February 1717 I James Johnson of Eaton in the County of Leicester Yeoman being of perfect Memory and Remembrance praised be God do make and Ordaine this my last will and Testament in manner and form following vizt
Imp I bequeath my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God hopeing thro’ the meritorious death and passion of Jesus xt my only Saviour and Redeemer to receive free pardon and Remission of all my Sins And as for my Body to be buryed in xtian Buriall at the Discretion of my Executrix hereafter nominated and appointed
Item I give unto my Sister Isabel West the Sume of one Shilling
Item I give unto her Son Wm West the Sume of one Shilling
Item I give unto her Daughter Isabel West the Sume of One Shilling
Item I give unto her Daughter Elizabeth Armstrong the Sum of One Shilling
Item my will and pleasure is that Christopher Fisher of Eaton my Brother in Law succeed in this my Farm after the decease of me and Elizabeth my wife if he shall be longest liver by and with the Consent of his Grace the Duke of Ruttland
It My will and pleasure is that if the sd Elizabeth my wife marry againe then the sd Eliz shall pay or cause to be paid unto the sd Xtopher the Sume of Twenty pound
It All the rest of Houses Leases Lands Tenements and Goods whatsoever I give unto Elizabeth my wife upon Conion that she shall pay all my Depts and Legacies above menconed And do appoint her my Sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament Revoaking all other wills and Testaments whatsoever or by me hereto fore made
In wittness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand & Seal the Day and Year above written
