Alice Kirk of Scalford 1805 Will

In the Name of God Amen This is the last Will and Testament of me Alice Kirk of Scalford in the County of Leicester Widow
First I give and bequeath to my twenty Grandchildren the sum of one guinea each
Also I give an bequeath to my Grandson John Dunsmore and to my Grand daughter Sarah Musson the sum of five pounds a piece besides the one guinea each beforementioned
Also I give and bequeath to my Grand daughter Elizabeth Dunsmore my best Bed with all the Bed furniture thereto belonging to be delivered to her immediately after my decease
Also I give and bequeath to my son William Kirk my Bed in the Parlour on which I usually sleep with all the Bed furniture thereto belonging my Desk or Bureau my Fire Iron my Grate my Iron Crane or Gate and all my running and other hooks my two Copper and the same are now hung my two Milk Leads all my Cupboards and all my shelves fixed up in my dwelling House
Also I give and bequeath to my Daughters Elizabeth Heaselwood Mary Hourd and Ann Stokes the sum of five pounds a piece
Also I give and bequeath to my said Daughters Elizabeth Heaselwood Mary Hourd and Ann Stokes the Residue and Remainder of all my Household furniture of what nature or kind soever all my Brewing Vessels Linen and Plate not herein before disposed of to be delivered to and equally divided amongst them immediately after my decease
Also I give and bequeath to my said son William Kirk and my Brother Thomas Shuttlewood their Executors and Administrators the sum of sixty pounds in Special Trusts and Confidences for the uses and purposes hereinafter mentioned that is to say
In Trust and I will and direct that they my said Trustees shall pay the said sum of sixty pounds to my son Joel Dunsmore within twelve calendar Months next after my decease if he shall lawfully demand the same within that space of time but in case he shall not demand the same within that space of time then and in such Case I will and direct that my said Trustees shall place the said sum or Legacy of sixty pounds out at Interest on good security for the most Interest they can procure and shall suffer the Interest arising therefrom to accumulate till my said son Joel Dunsmore shall lawfully demand the said Legacy of sixty pounds and the accumulated Interest thereof but in Case my said son Joel Dunsmore shall not lawfully demand the same within twelve years next after my decease then I will and direct that my said Trustees shall pay the said Legacy of sixty pounds and all the accumulated Interest to my said Grand daughter Elizabeth Dunsmore if she shall be then living but in case she be then dead Then I direct that my said Trustees shall pay the said Legacy of sixty pounds and all the accumulated Interest which shall have arisen therefrom to such Child or Children of my said Grand daughter Elizabeth Dunsmore as shall be living at her decease to be divided equally amongst them but if she leave no Child or Children then I will and direct that my said Trustees shall pay the said Legacy and all the accumulated Interest which shall have arisen therefrom to said son William Kirk my said Daughters Elizabeth Heaselwood Mary Hourd and Ann Stokes or their respective Representatives in equal shares
Also all the Residue and Remainder of my Goods Chattels Cattle ready Money securities for Money and all my personal Estate of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever not herein before by me disposed of Subject nevertheless to the payment of all my just Debts all the Legacies herein by me given and bequeathed and of all my Funeral and Testamentary expenses I give and bequeath to my said son William Kirk whom I do hereby make and ordain whole and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament and do hereby ratify and declare this and none other to be my last Will and Testament
In Witness whereof I the said Alice Kirk the Testatrix have hereunto set my hand and seal this first Day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and two

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Alice Kirk the Testatrix as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other subscribed our Names hereto as Witnesses to the due Execution thereof having first observed that the Words “said son William Kirk” were interlined between the twenty eight and twenty ninth lines
