In the name of God Amen I Job Lester of Scalford in the County of Leicester farmer being of a Sound and perfect Memory do Make This My last will and Testament
First I Commend my Soul into the hands of almighty God that gave it me
My Body I committ to the Earth to be Buried at the discression of my Executor hereafter named
And as to my worldly Goods which it hath pleased God to possess me of I Give & Bequeath as followeth
Imprimis I Give and Bequeath to my Nephew John Doubleday of Scalford aforesaid all my Stock & Crop and all materials belonging to the farm which the said John Doubleday rents of Mr Hubard of Garthorpe and allso all Household Goods in & belonging to the said dwelling house which he now lives in allso a Brewing Copper which now is at or in the house My Brother John Lester lives in as allso the Grate & Door belonging to it allso a Cheesepress which now is at my Brother John Leicesters & also six pewter dishes and seven pewter plates and allso a mash tub two Barrels and a wash tub also the Cheese pan & the little pan a Churn & Leaven … & cover and also half my plow Timber which is at My Brother John Lesters
Item I Give and Bequeath to my Nephew William Fox the Sum of Thirty pounds of Good and Lawful Money to be paid him by my Executor hereafter Named in the space of one yeare after my Decease
Item I Give and Bequeath to David Fox my Nephew the Sum of five pounds of Lawfull Money to be paid him by my Executor in the Space one year after my Decease
Also I Give and Bequeath to my Sister Fox the Sum of five pounds of Lawfull Money to be paid by my Executor in the space of one year after my Decease
Allso I Give to my Sister Fox five pounds More besides the five pound before named for her to Give to her two Daughters as she shall think proper and to be paid by me Executor in the space of one year after my Decease
Also I Give Jonathan Fox my Nephew two Guineas to be paid as above
As to all the Rest & Residue of My Goods & personall Estate I Give and bequeath to my well beloved Brother John Lester whome I make Executor of this my last will & Testament as Witness my hand & seal this third day of February 1747/8
