In the name of god Amen
I Roger Middleton of Harby in the Countie of Leicester sicke in bodie but well in mind and of good remembrance (I prayse god for it) do make and ordeyne this my last will and testament in manner and forme following
Imprimis I bequeath my Soule to almightie god who gave it and by the passion of his Sonne and my Saviour Christ Jesus hath redeemed it and my bodie to be buried in the church of Harby aforesayd and my lands and goods as followeth
I give to my Sonne Roger Middleton that house and all that land I bought of Richard Arden with the apptenances and a quarter of an oxgange I bought of John Smith
Ite I give to my Sonne John Middleton that house and land with all apptenances I bought of Mathew Kemp and also that oxgange I bought of Mr Huttchinson with the apptenances
Item I give to Widdow Blankley a bushell of barley
Ite It is my will that my exequutors injoy the land so longe as my wife kepes her a widow and that after her marriage the … to my Sonnes
Item I give to every Widdow in the towne Sixpence
And of this my last will and testerment I ordeyne Elizabeth my wife and Thomas Dubbleday her Sonne exequutors to whome I bequeath all the rest of my goods to pay my debts and to burie me
And of this my will I make and ordayne James Holmes and Robert Bramley overseers and give to ether of them sixpence
In witnesse whereof I have sett too my hand by a marke as can Wittnesse
