An Artickle of an Agreement Indented had made and fully agreed upon February the 19 in the first year of the Reighne of our Sovereigne Lord George the Seccond by the grace of God of Great Brittain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith &c Annoq Dom 1727 Between Thomas Normanton of Grimston in the County of Leicester Webster of the one parte and John Normanton of the same Towne and County afforesaid Websteer and sonne of him the said Thomas Normanton of the other parte Witnesseth
That The said Thomas Normanton for and in consideration of the sume of five shillings of good and current lawfull money of Great Brittain to him in hand paid by the said John Normanton att or before the ensealinge and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof hee the said Thomas Normanton doth hereby Acknowledge and for divers other good and valuable causes and consideracons … the said Thomas Normanton thereunto more especially moveinge Hee the said Thomas Normanton hath Bargained Sold Sett and Assigned over unto the said John Normanton his Exeuctors Administrators and Assignes the one Moiety or halfe of all his stock which he now hath of Horses Mares Cows and Cow kind Sheepe plows Harrows and all other utensells in Husbandry whatsoever which he now hath in possession Together with hay straw Clotts sowed or to Sow Alsoe halfe the Tenant right which hee now hath in Two Closes in Sholeby Lordship which hee now Renteth of the Right honourable the Earle of Guernsey to enter upon halfe of all and every the said premisses the five and Twentieth day of March next Ensuinge the date of these presents Hee the said John Normanton his Executors Administrators and Assignes paying and defraying the one halfe of what Rents shall become due and Assessments and other duties and likewise halfe the arrearages of what rent shall be due upon the said premisses at lady day next
And it is Covenanted unto by and betweene the said parties to these presents that he the said Thomas Normanton and Anne his Wife shall have and Enjoy the other moiety or halfe of the aforesaid premisses for and duringe the term of their Naturall lives or the life of the longest survivour of them they paying halfe the rents as they shall become due and Likewise the halfe of all other duties and other Charges that shall be imposed upon the said premisses dureing the term of their Naturall lives or the longest survivour of them
And it is further Covenanted and agreed unto that the said Thomas Normanton and Anne his Wife or which shall happen to be the longest survivour of them shall have full power to dispose and give away at their Decease or otherwise their said halfe of the premisses aforesaid which shall then be in his or her possession which shall then happen to be the survivour to be equally divided and appraised by Two honest and substantiall men chosen by both partys then in beinge to decide the same and att the Decease of the said Thomas Normanton and Anne his Wife or the longest survivour of them then it is agreed unto that the said John Normanton his Executors Administrators or Assignes shall have and Enjoy the whole Tennant Right of both the said Closes leave beinge first had of the Landlord and for the true performance of all and every the said Covenants and Agreements each party bindeth himself unto the other firmly by these presents
