In the name of God Amen November the 30th 1674
I Edward Pares of Saxleby in the County of Leic: yeoman being weake in body but of good & perfect memory (praysed be the Lord for the same) doe make this my Last Will & Testament in manner & forme followinge
First I give & bequeath my Soule unto Almighty God my Creator hopeing & verrily assuring my selfe through God his Mercyes & the All Sufficient Merits of Jesus Christ my blessed Saviour & Redeemer to be partaker of Life everlasting And my Body I bequeath to the Earth from whence it was taken to be buried in Christian Buriall at the discretion of my Executors & Executrix in the Church or Churchyard of Saxleby aforesayd & for the worldly Goodes which it hath pleased the Lord to bestow on me I doe dispose of them in manner & Forme followinge
First I give & bequeath unto my Loveinge Sonne Anthony Pares eight Poundes to be payd a yeare after my death
Item I give unto my Loveing Sonne William Pares eight poundes to be payde a yeare after my death
Item I give unto my Loveing Sonne Edwarde Pares eight Poundes to be payd a yeare after my death
Item I give unto my Loveing Daughter Franses Pollard one pound & ten shillings for her filial portion
Item I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Pares Eight Poundes
Item I give unto my Loveing Daughter Alice Pares eight Poundes
It is my will that all the before mentioned Legacies be payd by my Executors & Executrix to the severall Legatees a yeare after my death
Item I give unto my Loveing Sonne John Pares all my house & Land in Wartnaby
All the rest of my Estate & goods undisposed of I give unto my Loveing Sonne John Pares & my Loveing wife Mary Pares whom I make the Executor and Executrix of this my Last will & testament my debts (if any be) & my funerall Charges being first payd & defrayed, & I intreate Mr John Cant of Wartnaby aforesayd to be an Executor allsoe & to be assisting unto my aforesayd Executor and Executrix
Thus I make this my Last Will & Testament
Wittnesse my hand & seale here unto placed the day & year above written

Know all men by these presents That whereas Edward Pares late of Saxleby in the County of Leicester yeoman by his last will and testament did appoint constitute & make us John Cant of Wartnaby in the County aforesd gent & Mary Pares widdow Relict of the said Edward Executors of the last will & testamt of the sd Edward Pares Togeather with John Pares his son Now know yee that wee the aforesd John Cant & Mary Pares widdow for divers good causes & consideracons us & either of us hereunto moving By these presents doe & either of us doe refuse to take the burden of Executorship uppon us Or to intermeddle with any of the estate of the sd Edward Pares as his Executors And doe hereby renounce our & either of our right of Executorship in & to the same
In Witnesse whereof wee have hereunto put our hands & seales this first day of May Anno Dni 1675
