In the name of God Amen The thirteenth day of September in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand sixe hundred Fiftye and eight I Henry Portman of Eastwell in the Countie of Leicester gent beinge sicke and weake in bodye but of perfect memory (praised be Almighty for it) doe make and ordaine this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following (that is to saie)
First I give & bequeath my Soule into the handes of Almightie God my maker and Creator hopeinge assuredlie through the onelie merits and mediacon of Jesus Christ my onelie Saviour and Redeemer to be made an pertaker of life everlastinge And as for my bodye I Comend it to the earth whereof it was made to be buryed in a decent manner in the parishe Church or Chancell of Eastwell aforesaid
And as for my worldlie goodes chattels and estate which it hath pleased God to lend me I give and bequeath unto the poore people of Eastwell aforesaid Five shillinges
Alsoe I give and bequeath unto everie one of my brothers and sisters Twelve pence
All the rest of my goodes chattels Cattle and Leases whatsoever my debtes legacies and Funerall expences beinge paid I give and bequeath unto Margarett Gulston my neece whom I make and ordaine my full and Sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament Revokeinge all former wills and Testaments whatsoever heretofore by mee made
In wittnes whereof I the said Henry Portman have hereunto sett my hand and Seale the day and yeare first above written

This will was proved at London the foure and twentieth day of November in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand sixe hundred fiftye eight before the Judges for probate of wills and grauntinge administrations lawfullie authorized by the oathe of Margarett Gulston the neece nowe the wife of Gervas Day the Executrix named in the said will To whom was comitted administracon of all and singuler the goodes chattels and debtes of the said deceased Shee beinge first Sworne by Comission truly to administer
