In the Name of God Amen this twentieth Day of February 1784 I William Posnit of Nether Broughton in the County of Leicester Farmer being of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to god therefore do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say
Principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul into the hands of God that gave it and for my Body I Recommend it to the Earth to be Buryed in a Christian like and decent Manner at the Discretion of my Executor hereafter Named and as touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath Pleased God to Bless me in this Life I Give Devise and Dispose of the same in the following manner and form
First I will that all my just Debts and Funeral Expences be paid and Discharged by my Executor
Also I give unto my Grandaughter Elizabeth Mackley the sum of twenty pounds
Also I give unto my Grandson John Mackley the Sum of ten pounds Which separate sums to be paid by my Executor When my Grandson John Mackley Comes to the Years of one & twenty and if my Grandaughter Elizabeth Should Die Before the said sum Coms Due then ten pounds more to be paid to my Grandson John Mackley and if my Grandson John Mackley Should Dye Before he Coms to the age then the said ten pounds to be paid to my Grandaughter Elizabeth Mackley
Also I give unto my son William Posnet Whom I make sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament I Give Demise and Bequeath to him and his heirs all and Every my Messuages Lands tenements and Hereditaments Whatsoever and wheresoever which I also Charge with the Payments of my said Legacies
In Witness Whereof I have here unto set my hand and Seal this twenty ninth Day February and in the year of our Lord 1784

Let a probat be made to William Posnet the sole Executor within named he being duly sworn as well to the faithful Execution of the Will as that the Testator’s Goods Chattels and Credits do not amount in value to the sum of one hundred pounds
