This is the last Will and Testament of me John Rouse of Hose in the County of Leicester Farmer and Grazier (that is to say)
I hereby Give and Devise unto my Dear Wife Ann Rouse all my Messuages Cottages or Tenements Closes Lands Hereditaments and premises situate standing lying and being in Claxton otherwise Long Clawson in the said County of Leicester and now in the Tenure or Occupation of Thomas Barlow and others their Assignee or Assignes To Hold the same to her my said Dear Wife her Heirs and Assigns for ever
I give and Devise All those my Messuages Cottages or Tenements Lands Close and Hereditaments situate standing lying and being in Easthorpe in the said County and now in the Tenure or Occupation of my Son Thomas Rouse with their respective Rights Members and Appurtenances to him his Heirs and Assigns for ever
I Give unto my Son Joseph Rouse the Sum of One Hundred pounds to be paid to him by my Executrix hereinafter named within twelve Calendar Months next after my decease out of my personal Estate as also all my just debts Funeral and Testamentary Expences and of proving this my Will and in Case my said personal Estate shall be insufficient for that purpose Then I do hereby charge and make Chargeable my said Real Estate at Claxton otherwise Long Clawson with the payment of the deficiency thereof
And Lastly I do hereby Nominate Constitute and appoint my said Dear Wife Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made
In Witness whereof I the said John Rouse the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my Hand and Seal this Twenty first day of February in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight Hundred and sixteen

Let a probat be granted to Ann Rouse of Hose in the County of Leicester, Widow, Executrix named in the Will of John Rouse, who died at Hose on 4th day of October 1822
She the said Ann Rouse being duly sworn as well to the faithful Execution of the will as that the Testators Goods Chattles & Credits as they were at his death without deducting any debts owing by him therefrom did not amount in value to the sum of four hundred and fifty pounds
