In the name of God amen April the 23rd Anno Dom 1691 I Thomas Rowe the Elder of Grimston in the Parish of Rothley in the County of Leic husbandman being sick & weaklye of bodie but of good & perfect memorie (praysed be the Lord for the same doe ordaine & make this my last Will and Testament in Manner & forme followinge
First I bequeath my Soule to Allmighty God my Creator hopeinge and verely assuring myself through God his mercies and Christ his merits to be pertaker of life everlasting and my bodie I bequeath to the Earth from whence it was taken to be buried in Christian buriall at the discretion of my Executor in the Church yard of Grimston as aforesaid and for my worldly Goods wich it hath pleased the Lord to lend me I doe dispose of them in manner and forme following
Imprimis I give to my loveing Wife Susanna Rowe three pounds yearly whilst shee liveth to be paid by my Executor if she goeth away from him
Item I give to my Sonne Christopher Birch one Shilling
Item I give to my Daughter Ann William one Pound
Item I give to my Sonne and Daughter John Glover & Elling Glover one Shilling apeece
Item I give to my Sonne John Rowe Eight pounds in monies and one bed and beding and a little Chamber and Egresse and Regresse in the Yard for his Trade
Lastly I give to my loveinge Sonne Thomas Rowe whom I make Executor all the rest of my Goods undisposed hee paying my legacies as I have bequeathed them and my debts if any be and funeralls Charges
And thus I make my last Will and Testament
