In the name of God amen February the first 1672 I George Simson the Elder of Grimston in the Parish of Rothley in the County of Leic labourer beinge weake & sickly of body but of good & perfect memorie (praysed be the Lord for the same) doe ordaine this my last Will & Testament in manner & forme following
First I give & bequeath my Soule to Allmighty God my Creator hopeing & verily assureinge myselfe through Christ my Saviours & Redeemers merits to be partaker of life everlasting and my body I bequeath to the earth from when it was taken to be buried in Christian Buriall in the Church yard of Grimston aforesaid at the discretion of my Executor & for the worldly Goods which the Lord hath bestowed on me I doe dispose of them in manner & forme followinge
First I give unto my loveinge Sonne Thomas Simson one new Suite of Clothes for his filliall portion
Item I give unto my loveinge Sonne Richard Simson one Shilling for his filiall portion
Item I give to my loveinge Daughter Elizabeth Sharpe one face Cloth for her filiall portion
Item I give to my loveinge Daughter Anne Simson a greate Pan a Puter dish one matrice one Red blanckett one paire of Hemeinge Sheets one bolster
Item I give to my loveing Daughter Mary Simson a pan a puter Dish 2 Blankett a paire of hempinge Sheets & bolster for her filiall portion
Item I give unto my loving Sonne Will Simson & my loveing Daughter Alice Simson seede to sow the land & they to receive the Profits of it & the Blacke Cow for their filiall Portions
Item I give unto my loveinge Sonne George Simson one Blacke heifer for his filiall portion
Lastly I give unto my loveinge Sonne John Simson whom I make Executor all the Rest of my Goodes unbequeathed hee paying the Legacies & Debts if any be & my funerall charges
And this I make my last Will & Testament
