In the name of God amen I Richard Spencer of Claxton otherwise Long Clawson in the County of Leicester husbandman doo this Six and twentieth day of November in the year of our Lord 1743 Make this my Will in Manner following (that is to say)
First I resign my Soul into the hands of almighty God my Creator and My body I commit to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executor herein after named
And as for my temporal Estate I dispose of the Same as followes (to wit)
I give Unto my Grandaughter Ann Kilbourn the Sum of five pounds to be paid to her within twelve Months after my death
Also I give Unto my Son William Spencer the Sum of twenty pounds to be paid to him within twelve months after my death over and above what I shall owe him when I dye
Also I give Unto him my Said Son William Spencer one bed and bedding in the little parlour and two good Milking Cowes
Also I give and bequeath Unto my Son Richard Spencer the Sum of five pounds which I promised to give him upon his Marriage
Also I give Unto my daughters Elizabeth and Mary one Shilling apiece
All the rest of my Goods expences being first thereout paid and discharged I give and bequeath Unto my Son John Spencer whom I hereby appoint full and Sole executor of this my Will hereby revoking all former Wills by me made declaring this to be my last Will and Testament
In Witness whereof I the said Richard Spencer the Testator have hereunto set my hand and Seale the day and year first above Written

Signed Sealed published and declared by the Said Richard Spencer the Testator for and as his last Will and Testament in the presence of Us who have Subscribed our names as Witnesses in his presence
