Be it remembered that on the one and thirtieth day of August in the four and thirtieth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord Charles the Second by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King defender of the faith &c Annoq Dom 1682 William Spreckley whilst he lived of Claxton als Long Clauson in the County of Leicester Taylor being then sick and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory, and with an intent to make and declare his last Will & Testament Nuncupative or by word of mouth uttered and declared these words following or words to the same effect
First he did give unto his eldest son William Spreckley his house with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging, excepting the house and yard that he purchased of Richard Noble of Waltam, and alsoe one oxgang of Land common and common of pasture in the East end of Claxton als Long Clauson in the County of Leicester provided that his eldest son give unto his three sisters hereafter named five pounds a peece
And alsoe did give unto Anne Spreckley, Mary Spreckley and Elizabeth Spreckley his three daughters the house and the yard adjoyning to it which he formerly purchased of Richard Noble of Waltam to them and their heirs for ever, which deed bears date the seaventeenth day of May in the seaven and twentieth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord Charles the Second by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King defender of the faith Annoq Dom 1675
And alsoe did give unto his wife Mary Spreckley all his goods and Chattells his debts being paid and funeral expences discharged bringing up his children
And alsoe he did nominate and appoint his wife Mary Spreckley Sole Executrix of this his will Nuncupative Which premises the said Willm Spreckley did declare in the presence and hearing of divers credible witnesses whose names are hereunto sett
