Henry Stokes of Hose 1813 Will

This is the last Will and Testament of me Henry Stokes of Hose in the county of Leicester Farmer as follows
First I direct that all my just debts legacies funeral and testamentary expences be fully paid
Then I Give and Devise All those my two Messuages or Tenements with the Yards Gardens and hereditaments thereunto belonging situate standing lying and being in Hose aforesaid with their appurtenances in the several tenures of Thomas Stokes and Widow Hollingworth (subject to any Mortgage debt or debts that may be due thereon) unto my Son James Stokes his heirs and assigns for ever
I Give and Devise All that new erected Messuage or Tenement with the Homestead hereditaments and appurtenances thereto belonging situate standing lying and being in Hose aforesaid unto my dear Wife Mary Stokes and her assigns for and during such part of her natural life only as she shall continue my Widow And from and immediately after her decease or marriage which shall first happen Then I Give and Devise the said new erected messuage or tenement homestead and appurtenances unto my said Son James Stokes his heirs and assigns for ever
I Give and bequeath unto my son William Stokes the sum of One hundred and forty pounds
I Give and bequeath unto my Six Children – namely – Joseph, Edward, Mary and Jane Stokes Esther the Wife of Henry Lamin of Hose aforesaid and Ann the Wife of Isaac Hallam of Goadby Marwood in the said County of Leicester Farmer the sum of One hundred pounds apiece
All which said several legacies I will shall be paid to them and each of them my said Children within Twelve Months after my decease by my Executrix and Executor hereinafter named
And as to all my Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature kind or quality soever the same may be I Give and bequeath the same and every part thereof (subject to the payment of my just debts the legacies above bequeathed funeral and Testamentary expences) unto my said Wife Mary Stokes and my said Son James Stokes their executors administrators and assigns in equal shares and proportions And I do hereby nominate and appoint them joint Executrix and Executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made
In Witness whereof I the said Henry Stokes the Testator have hereunto set my hand and Seal this twenty seventh day of November One thousand eight hundred and twelve

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Henry Stokes the Testator as and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us who have at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other set our hands as witnesses to the due execution thereof and the erasures in the “eighth” and “ninth” lines from the top of the said will being done before the Execution thereof

Let a probat be granted to Mary Stokes widow of Hose in the County of Leicester & James Stokes of the same Parish Farmer joint Executrix & Executor within named
They the said Mary Stokes and James Stokes being duly sworn as well to the faithful Execution of the Will as that the Testators Goods Chattels & Credits do not amount in value to the sum of one thousand five hundred pounds
