John Stokes of Wartnaby 1748 Will and Inventory

In the Name of God Amen the Thirtieth Day of April in the year of our Lord 1748 I John Stokes of Wartnaby yeoman being weak in Body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following
First I bequeath my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God my maker hoping through the meritorious Death and Passion of Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer to receive free pardon of all my Sins; and as for my Body to be buried in Christian Burial at the discretion of my Executrixes hereafter Nominated
Imprimis I Give to my daughter Anne Stokes the Sum of Twenty Pounds
Item I Give to my daughter Elizabeth Stokes the Sum of Twelve pounds
Item I Give to my daughter Mary Stokes the Sum of Ten pounds
Item I Give to my daughter Frances Weston the Sum of Three pounds
Item I Give to my Grandson John Weston the sum of Five pounds to be put out to use untill he comes to the age of 21 years and then to have the Interest that Brings him up and if he die before he comes to the age of 21 years his mother to have the five pounds
All the rest of my Leases Goods and Chattles whatsoever I Give unto Mary my Wife and Hannah Stokes my youngest Daughter upon condition that they shall pay all my Debts and Legacies and Burial Charges and do make them my Sole Executrixes of this my last Will and Testament revoking all other Wills and Testament
My will further is that if my wife or my Daughter Hannah either of them marry they are to Leave the possession
