John Watchorn of Plungar 1837 Will

This is the Last Will and Testament of me John Watchorn of Plungar in the County of Leicester Farmer
First I will that all my just Debts be paid
And I give and devise all that Messuage or Tenement situate standing and being at Plungar aforesaid with the Cordwainers Shop Garden and Appurtenances thereto belonging in the Occupation of my Son Isaac Watchorn unto my son John Watchorn his Heirs and assigns for ever And I do hereby declare that the said Messuage or Tenement and Hereditaments are so give and devised by me to my said Son John Watchorn his Heirs and Assigns only on Condition of his discharging my Executor hereinafter named from the sum of one hundred and thirty pounds which I am now indebted to the said John Watchorn
And I give devise and bequeath all and every other my Messuages or Tenement with the Outbuildings Yards Gardens and Appurtenances thereunto belonging situate and being in Plungar aforesaid or elsewhere in the County of Leicester And also all and singular my Household Goods and Furniture Stock upon my Land Hay Corn Grain Implements of Husbandry Plate Linen and China Monies Securities for Money and all other my personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever the same may be (subject to the payment of my just debts funeral and Testamentary Expences and the Legacies hereinafter by me given and bequeathed) unto my Son Richard Watchorn his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns absolutely for ever
And I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth the Wife of Peter Hollingworth of Long Bennington in the County of Lincoln Labourer the Sum of twenty pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain and to my Son Daniel Watchorn the Sum of ten pounds of like lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid to them respectively by my Executor hereinafter named within twelve Calendar Months after my decease and to be considered a vested Interest in them respectively from the time of my decease and to be transmissible to their respective Representatives in case of their or either of their deaths before the same shall become payable under or by virtue of this my Will And I do expressly charge my said Messuage or Tenement Hereditaments and real Estate given and devised to my said Son Richard Watchorn to and with the payment thereof accordingly
And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said Son the said Richard Watchorn sole Executor of this my Will
And lastly revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made I do publish and declare these two sheets of paper written on one side only and each of them signed by me and the last of them sealed with my Seal to be my last Will and Testament this twenty first day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty six

These two sheets of paper written on one side only were each of them signed by the said John Watchorn the Testator and the last of them sealed with his Seal and were by him published and declared as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our Names as Witnesses thereto

Whereas I John Watchorn of Plungar in the County of Leicester Farmer have made and duly executed my last will and Testament in writing bearing date the twenty first day of March one thousand eight hundred and thirty six, now I do hereby declare this present Writing to be as a codicil to my said will, and direct the same to be annexed thereto, and taken as part thereof
And whereas by my said Will I did give and devise unto my son John Watchorn his heirs and assigns for ever all that my messuage or tenement situate standing or being at Plungar aforesaid with the cordwainers shop garden and appurtenances thereto belonging, in the occupation of my son Isaac Watchorn, on Condition of his discharging my executor therein after mentioned from the sum of one hundred & thirty pounds which I am now indebted to the said John Watchorn, now I do hereby revoke the said gift and devise, and do hereby give and devise unto my son James Watchorn his heirs and assigns for ever all that my aforesaid messuage or tenement with all its appurtenances in the occupation of my son Isaac Watchorn, and also all and every my other messuages and tenements with all their appurtenances (given & devised by me said Will to my son Richard Watchorn) on the following conditions, viz that he the said James Watchorn do pay unto my son John Watchorn aforesaid the sum of one hundred and thirty pounds, which I am now indebted to him and that he do also pay to my daughter Elizabeth the wife of Peter Hollingworth the sum of twenty pounds, and to my son Daniel Watchorn the sum of ten pounds of lawful money of Great Britain and that he do also take care of, feed, maintain, and clothe my daughter Mary Watchorn during the term of her life
In witness whereof I the said John Watchorn have to this codicil set my hand and seal the twelfth day of October in the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty six

As a further codicil to the above I the said John Watchorn do also required that my said son James Watchorn do pay to my daughter Mary Watchorn the sum of twenty pounds which I am indebted to her as a further condition of his having the aforesaid messuages, tenements, with all their appurtenances, for him & his heirs for ever

Richard Watchorn of Plungar in the county of Leicester Farmer the Sole executor in the will named was duly sworn to the truth and faithful performance thereof as usual and that the goods chattels and credits of the deceased do not amount in value to the sum of three hundred Pounds and that the deceased died on the thirteenth day of October last past
