James Whittle of Harby 1672 Will and Inventory

November the 30th Anno Domini 1670
In the name of God Amen I James Whittle of Harby in the County of Leicester yeoman being sicke in body but of perfect memory praised be God doe Ordaine this my Last will and testament in manner and forme following
First I bequeath my soule into the hands of Almighty God my Creator and Redeemer hopeing through his merritts to receive eternall Life and my body to bee buried in the Church or Churchyard of Harby at the discretion of mine executors hereafter menconed
Itm I give unto my Sonne Ralph Whittle and to his heires and Assignes for ever All that my Cottage house with all the appurtenances within the towne and fields to the same belongeing lyinge within the precincts of Harby aforesaid and now in the Tenure or occupacon of mee the said James and … … … … to enter upon all the said premisses immediately after my decease
It I give unto my said Sonne Ralph Whittle one third parte of the Lands in the open fields lately the estate of James Kambe lyinge within the precincts of Harby aforesaid and now in the Tenure of mee the said James Whittle To have and to hould the said third parte of Land with thapptenances unto him the said Ralph Whittle his heires and assignes for ever immediately after the decease of Frances my now wife and my will is that my Sonne James Whittle his executors and assignes shall yearely and every yeare pay unto my Sonne Ralph his executors and assignes the yearely rent of thirty shillings by even porcons dureing the life of Frances my wife
Itm I give unto my Sonne Ralph Tenn pounds over and above his parte of my goods
It I give Frances my wife one third parte of the land lately the estate of James Kambe my son Ralph to plow and order for and dureing her naturall life, as also two cowes and five sheepe at her own ellecson or choice and one parlour in the house wherein I now live with ingress egress and regress of & to the same dureing her naturall life
Itm I give unto my Sonne James Whittle and to his heires and Assignes for ever One Cottage the estate of James Kambe and lyeing and being within the precincts of Harby aforesaid and now in the tenure of mee the said James Whittle thelder To have and to hould the said Cottage & house or Tenement with the halfe oxgange of land Arable meadow Common and pasture with Thapptenances unto him the said James Whittle the yonger his heires and Assignes for ever from and ymmediately after the death of mee the said James Whittle thelder
Lastly I give unto my two Sonnes Ralph Whittle and James all the rest of my goods cattells and chattells whatsoever or wheresoever (not formerly bequeathed) my debts and funerall expences being dischardged equally to bee divided betwixt them whom I make executors of this my Last will and testament
In Witnes whereof I have hereunto sett mine hand & Seale the day and yeare first above written

Signed sealed published and declared as the Last will and testament of the above said James Whittle Thelder in the presence of us whose names are subscribed
